Have been using mouth tape for about five years now - no dry mouth or snoring. At first the thought was scary - sort of claustrophobic - so I'd put the tape on and count to 10 then rip it off... then 50 and so on until I found I was breathing perfectly normally and the tape no longer bothered me. These are my two grandchildren who ask for it every night and both sleep longer and better and wake happy. They were both chronic snorers with mouths wide open before they started taping.
No more glue on my lips like with other tape, super comfortable thanks to the elasticity, and the design makes me smile every time – I’m smiling in every sense :)
The Beauty Sleep mouth tape really works. It's comfortable, stays put, and the small slit in the middle doesn't completely cut off air flow through your mouth if you need it.
It took a few nights for me to use the mouth tape effectively. For the first couple of nights, I found my mouth was still separating a little bit and I was still able to breath through my mouth. Which is a good thing because there was never a claustrophobic or "The Matrix" vibe going on while I was adjusting.
Since the tape is flexible and breathable, there is some stretchy movement which makes it comfortable. But the adhesive stays in place and I never busted out of the mouth tape nor did it bunch up or fold funny. It stays in place.
At about the third or fourth night, my lips stayed together. I made sure to adjust the placement so my lips were a bit "tighter" together and I was fully breathing through my nose. I was concerned about the adhesive because I am that girl that has sensitive skin and I can get an allergic reaction to adhesive on my skin depending on whatever is going on with my hormones, the air/tempertaure, mercury in retrograde or just because. haha. I also always have dry lips and use lip balm/salve all day. Three weeks in and my skin and lips have been fine. No allergic reaction, and my lips don't feel dry. Maybe it even helps seal in a little moisture to my lips overnight?
I am noticing slightly more restful sleep and less of that "coating" in my mouth and dry mouth from sleeping with my mouth open. My results would probably be better if I could sleep through the night without having to pee and feeling restless and itchy and hot (that's a separate issue related to perimenopause and adjusting HRT.)
The only reason I didn't rate the mouth tape five stars is that there are a couple of drawbacks for me, one major and one super minor:
1. After three weeks, the last few times I've used the mouth tape, I'm waking up in the morning with my jaw clenching. I don't know if this is a temporary side effect or something I can conditon myself not to do with the mouth tape. Do I have to choose between jaw clenching or dry mouth? We shall see.
2. You can't use Face ID on your phone with the mouth tape on. Okay, this is a minor inconvenience (first world problem) and a good reminder that I don't need my phone anywhere near my sleep hygiene routine. I just have to remember to set my alarm or do any last minute things on my phone before I put the tape on. I can still type in my numerical passcode. Just something my princess-self noted.
Overall, this product is excellent and if you are having a hard time choosing between the different options out there, if you have concerns about comfort, breathability, allergic reactions or that this will keep you from breathing if your sinuses stuff up, don't worry, this is the one. I highly recommend Beauty Sleep.
I’ve used a CPAP for 5 yrs & had many issues with it including major nose bleeds. I mainly need to stop mouth breathing so that I don’t snore and so I don’t get a swollen uvula. This tape has reduced my snoring and works better than other products. The tape stays on and is easy to remove in the morning. Also no break outs on my skin.
The tape is very easy to use. It is very comfortable. I was quite surprised. I am thankful that I found this. My sleeping is much better and the loud noises that I am embarrassed to say are much quieter so my hubby is happier too. I do wear a bite guard and that has not been a problem. I am able to have a sip of water and put the tape back on. I have been using a little over 2 weeks and through the night. The first 2 nights I took it off after 6 or so hours but I was never worried. Thank you! I will continue to use.
Life changing - my sleep is incredible, my energy is boundless and I've recommended these to anyone who will listen to me! Thank you for creating these.
I just started using these Beauty Sleep tape mouth 👄 (3 nights) so I haven’t noticed much. But prior to this I did try another brand (1 week) and I have to say that the Beauty Sleep brand is far more superior. No sticky glue when I rip it off and does stick even when I have lip stuff on when I put it on at night (It a must since I have dry lips throughout the day). But the fact that it stays on is a huge bonus for me. I hope I will see more once I wear them longer. But so far so good! 😊
I have suffered from the effects of sleeping with my mouth open for years. The incredible dry mouth, the snoring, the drooling, the poor sleep. I have tried other mouth tape and felt as if I was suffocating. But I am thrilled to tell you that this mouth tape is a game changer. I am sleeping all through the night. No more parched mouth, waking me up to drink a lot of water during the night, then using the bathroom every couple hours. My husband says I am not snoring any more! I'm just so happy with the Beauty Sleep mouth tape.
